After an award-winning career on Broadway and in regional theaters across the country, JOHN SPENCER (Phil Egan) turned his talents to film, and in a short span of time was featured in "Sea of Love," "Black Rain" and "Green Card." These films led to his co-starring role in "Presumed Innocent" as Harrison Ford's dedicated partner.

It was "Presumed Innocent" that brought him national attention from the public and critics and led to his joining the cast of the country's most popular television drama "L.A. Law." As Tommy Mulaney, the tough, funny New York attorney, Spencer has become one of the country's most popular actors. With time off from "L.A. Law," he filmed one of NBC's most highly rated movies, "The Tangled Web" and starred in Joseph Wambaugh's "A Jury of One."

Spencer co-starred with Billy Crystal and Deborah Winger in "Forget Paris" and also starred in "Cafe Society." His most recent film roles include "The Rock," "Cold Around The Heart," "Albino Alligator," "Lesser Prophets," and "Copland." He will next be seen in "The Negotiator" with Kevin Spacey and Samuel L. Jackson.

Spencer received critical acclaim in the Broadway production of "Execution of Justice" for his portrayal of Dan White, a role he created at the Actors' Theatre in Louisville and won an Obie for his performance in "A Still Life" at the American Place Theatre which he repeated in Los Angeles. His other theater credits include "Good As New," "A Worker's Life," "Lakeboat," "Division Street," "Fishing" "El Salvador," "Amulets Against the Dragon Forces" and Frankie and Johnny at the Clair de Lune."
